COVID-19 (coronavirus) is now a real threat in New Zealand and the situation is evolving rapidly.
Coronaviruses are a large and diverse family of viruses which can cause illnesses such as the common cold and severe acute respiratory syndrome or pneumonia.
Symptoms of coronavirus include - fever, coughing, sore throat, temperature and difficulty breathing.
Difficulty breathing is a sign of pneumonia and requires immediate medical attention. If you have shortness of breath please phone the ED Department Waitakere Hospital immediately on 839 0000.
